I think my dog is left-handed, or left-pawed. When he "shakes" he offers his left paw. When he wants his belly rubbed, he paws at my arm with his left paw. Has anyone else ever had reason to think their dog favors one paw over the other? What examples can you give?

I guess that dogs could favor one paw over the other. If your dog uses his left paw most then he probably is more comfortable with that paw. It's kind of unique, really. I never really thought a dog favored one paw over the other, but they are living creatures, so I guess they are kind of like humans.

Excellent question. To be honest, I've never really thought about it before, but I don't see why a dog wouldn't favor one paw over another.

Yes, ofcourse they can my dog is right-pawed and my cat is left-pawed. In fact it's very common for a dog to be left-pawed.

they dont have hands, only paws, and to tell you the truth they can be, they can be front-left pawed, it is the truth, but it is rare that they are front/back-left/right pawed. my dog was, he died, he did the same thing as your dog, he was also front-left pawed. i miss him.

yes. In flyball practice the other night, we rolled a ball out in front of the beginner dogs to see which way they would be most likely to turn. My older dog was more "ambidexterous", and my younger one always wanted to turn to the right.
