They have this stuff called new skin at the pharmacies or drug stores, and aloe vera gel really helps too but if it starts to blister you need to go to the doctor as it may be a very serious burn.

YES! Get moisturizer, pretty much any kind you would put on your face or hands. Glob the moisturizer on the burns really thick. do not rub it in. Just let it set and be absorbed. Soon as it look like it is starting to get absorbed glob more on the burns. Keep a thick coating of the moisturizer on the burn for a few hours.

You should find the pain getting less after the second coating of moisturizer. when you get a burn. grease or sun the moisture is taken out of your skin and the nerves are inflamed. The moisturizer re-hydrates and reduces the pain. this also works great with sunburn.

AND at the drug store you can get lotion for sun burns with a bit of lidocaine in it . Lidocaine is a anesthetic and will numb the area. But I prefer the moisturizer myself.

AND by the way butter does not work ist is an oil and is not easily abosrbed by the skin. You want a moisturizer formulated to be absorbed, like a face or hand moisturizer.

One more thing Never use Vaseline on a burn. Vaseline is a petroleum product. Its function it to create a moisture proof barrier.

Aloe vera or Rescue Remedy (available in natural food stores) are the best things I've found for burns. Don't use anything oily as the oil may keep the burning active, and don't use anything with alcohol as it will further dry/damage the skin. That includes NewSkin! Blistering means it's a second degree burn and should be seen by a doctor ASAP.

Hi!
I'm so sorry this happened to you..
When you get an oil splatter burn, you should have immediately have run cold water over it. You can still do that for a bit, then apply ice to the spots...off and on.
If you have any aloe vera in the house, or a plant, use it on your hand.
Maybe you have burn spray in the house.
Don't use anything greasy or oily... it will only hold in the burn.
Also, if you have Noxema in the house, that helps too.
Dab milk on it, it will soothe the burn or better yet, soak your hand in a bowl of milk. Cold water, ice and soaking in milk is the best you can do.
I hope this helps!
Feel better soon! :)
