my hair is down to my waist i have the same problem the only thing i found that works is a good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner and always carry a hair brush and brush after riding in a car that's when mine seems to be the worst.

I think a leave in treatment would help or buy a better shampoo and conditioner sometimes it pays more to get more.
I go to Beauty Brands ( a beauty supply store) and there are many choices and you can get some good deals and discouts at times if a regular shopper.Good Luck to you!
Ps
ask a Hair stylist for information call up or go in to get help with it.

When you wear your hair down bring a comb or brush with you and brush it often it probably would help to keep some hair spray on you too

Try spraying a detangler in your hair when you style it every morning. And brush it throughout the day as well.

Use conditioner every time you shampoo or you could try a detangling (dont know how its spelled) spray.

try using a good "seperation" product, for texture. Finger comb or brush it often.
