Cops don't carry or have body bags, only the Coroner has them. The Coroners are the ones who determined how the person died and tells detective if it is a accident, suicide, natural, or homicide by looking at the dead body. Once the quick determined time of death and how the person died, then they put body into the bag to be transported to the Morgue or the Coroner's work place. When it gets to the Morgue, they process the body for clues and evidence and do the autopsy for a complete analysis of the body to be documented and filed in the records archives. Once they done all that they notify the next of kin about the death of that person.
