the sentence means something like = Thus, believeing ( or to believe) is easier than thinking (or to think), that which is opposed to the definitions which appear judicious to me.

ce qui is used in french where we would say "what" not as in an interrogative sense "What's that?" but as in "That's what I want"

there are two forms in french: ce qui, and ce que

i think ce qui replaces the noun which is the subject of the verb in the previous clause, and ce que is used to replace a noun which was the object of the verb in the previous clause - or something like that. it sounds tricky, and i get confused as to which one to use but the french will understand you wither way.
i think one of the easiest ways to remember which one is that ce qui is used immediately after a verb - i think....

It is easier to believe than to think, which is the opposite of the definitions which have been proposed, which seem sensible to me.

'Ce qui' should refer to 'penser' - the last item in the phrase preceding it.

Be carefull...many have use an online translator to give you an answer...you cn still see french words in the english translation...
