I am thinking about getting a husky but I already have an American Eskimo. Will they both get along? Anyone experienced with this please help me.

They'll do fine. Introduce the puppy in such a way the the older dog doesn't feel threatened. Don't have any food around and have them outside the other dog's home. Then you can put them together. Most older dogs will not hurt a puppy.

That would depend on the two dogs. You have to make an introduction gradually. It's the personallity that counts. If the American Eskimo feels dominant and wants to defend the territory, he might attack the pup, just to show who's boss. Usually when that's done, the dog would leave the pup alone. However, some dogs may continue to attack. Other dogs may accept the puppy perfectly. I would suggest that before you buy the puppy, you bring your dog to meet her and see what happens.

It is very much an individual basis on a breed basis. Some dogs are very jealous of other dogs. How does your dog react when other dogs come near you? Does your dog seem to get along with most other dogs? There can be a real psychology to introducing new animals to each other. If your dog is the aggressive type it might not be a good idea to have another pet. If your dog is docile and laid back everything will probably be fine. Proceed with caution.

Depends on if the dogs like to be with other dogs. My dog likes to be the main controller in the house, so we couldn't get another dog or he would fight with the other dog. But some people I know have more than one dog and they like each other. Test it out, ask a friend to bring another dog to your house and see if the American Eskimo gets along with another dog, then ask if the husky you want to buy gets along with other dogs.
I hope this helps :)

All dogs will get along... ewhen introduced to each other at the right time. But if one dog is much older...he/she becomes territorial and protective. Some of them never accept another pet and in some cases never accept new babies.... just be careful on what you decide. It helps on these kinds of questions if we know the ages of the pets involve...answer depend a lot on that.
