how == recent == was the desex?
HOW LONG A TIME did it take the 'spot' to grow that much?
if this was within 7 days, i'd suspect a hematoma - which isn't USUALLY life-threatening, but is Very Painful.
it can be caused by a perforated vein, a leaky artery, capillary damage, etc.
if U suspect that Ur dog may be slowly bleeding internally, i'd go to the vet's.
do NOT allow Ur recently-desexed dog, or ANY dog who has had surgery, however minor, to 'run around', or 'jump around', the way they usually do !!
the dog does not understand the danger, and the pain may not be enough to make them 'not' do what they are accustomed to do (jump on the sofa, jump across a ditch, etc.).
it's up to YOU, the human, to keep the dog safe, and restrain them from overly-active behavior... but habits are very hard to break, and a LEASH can save Ur dog much pain, and U a big vet bill - or even a very sad loss. :-(
CALL the VET: describe in detail: Where the spot is, how BIG it is, how FAST it grew, and how 'tender' the dog is to touch there.
if it means a call to the Emergency Vet, just do it - they may be able to answer Ur Q on the phone, or say that U must come in. But a trip to the E-vet for $85 of reassurance is still better than having Ur dog bleed out into their abdomen overnite !!
hope he's okay, and it's a minor bruise - but better safe than sorry!

It should be fine. Animals and humans can bruise from a surgery. Shouldn't get much bigger. If you are overly worried contact your vet and he'll probably tell you the same.Don't worry.
