no.i never would circumcise my children.i think it is too personal of a decision.it's not my body it is theirs.i am pro choice on circumcision if you want to have it done on yourself no one should stop you,but know one should force it on someone else either.it is bad on boys and girls.it is considered genital mutilation today because it is unnecessary and harmful.male circumcision hurts women and men.female circumcision of course hurts women but also men.

Ok, there are some fair answers out there and some people who hopefully will never have kids of their own giving answers. The whole "takes longer to have an orgasim" story, not true at all. Anyway....
When my son was born, he was circumsized. Yes, he was uncomfortable for a week or so. But it will be a lot less painful now vs later. Why? How much do you remember as a newborn? Nothing.
My vote is to have it done now.
Good luck!

I did not and would not circumsize my boys!! It is much easier to deal with it this way. Who cares about the "social" area? What are you gonna do everything that everyone is doing? Do your research for your kids sake!! I think it takes a lot longer for a circumsized male to reach an orgasm because he doesn't have the foreskin covering his penis head, and it eventually becomes less sensitive, therefore taking longer. I've heard a lot of moms complaining about how hard it is to have circumsized boys! Also, I have heard stories where the poor boy was being circumsized with some laser thing and they burned off his penis! The boy suffered, and suffered, and eventually commited suicide! How sad!!

I have four sons and not one is circumsized. I said from when I first fell pregnant it was never going to be done. They were born with a foreskin for a reason. If it needed to be done because of the skin being to tight or infections I agree to having it done, but for looks no. My parents at first couldn't believe my decision but years down the track they both had boys and when the where born they wouldn't even consider it. I have spoken to alot of parents and there is only one child I know of so far that isn't circumsized.
Its personal choice but I don't agree to it for my children.

If I had a baby boy, I would probably have him circumsized at the hospital soon after birth. It's a social thing now. I wouldn't want my son to be different in that way. AND, if you don't circumsize you will have to teach him how to wash it by pulling back the foreskin... Anyway, it's probably different for everyone who has children......

It's hilarious - when you have a baby boy is the only time that friends and relatives think it is PERFECTLY NORMAL to ask you if your husband is circumcised!! I was like, "OK, since when are you interested in my HUSBAND'S PENI$!"
That said, I had read something about how up to 90% of boys didn't medically need to be circumcised. (And that AIDS thing is a bunch of bunk btw.) So when I had little guys, we didn't have it done. Well, turns out my boys are in the 10% that DO need to have it done. Their foreskin was really tight and it didn't go back. I told the doc that they never had any bladder infections or any pain, but the doc said, "That's OK, Mom, but someday, they're going to want to use that for other things, and it will probably be painful." I did not want to think about that, but there you go.
So we had to have our kids circumcised at ages 6 and 8 and it was general anesthesia and overnight in the hospital, then a long recuperation at home. I wish we'd had it done when they were first born.
However, I do not agree with them strapping babies down and doing it with no anesthetic or anything. I think that is just barbaric. People say, "Well, they don't remember." OK, is pain you forget somehow better than pain you remember? It's mean to say, 'Hey, welcome to the world. We're going to cut you now.' There has to be a better way.
That's my 2 cents.

I didn't my first child, and really didn't want to the second one either. The reason why I did was because I didn't know that baby boys had a second skin covering the head of the penis that needs to be ruptured ASAP, and my oldest sons ruptured when he was about 6 months old. It swelled really bad and caused him as much suffering then as it would have done to have had him circumcised. The second son, the Dr. was pulling it back to rip and it got stuck, (I don't think he is practicing medicine anymore), so the regular pediatrician of the hospital came in and took care of it. I did however like his method the best. He used a plastic piece that fits over the head, and the foreskin is pulled over that and tied off, after a week or so the dead foreskin falls off, the same as the belly button. My younger son wanted this method for his son, but they wouldn't do it. I guess it is the Dr's choice which I think is rediculous since it is your baby not theirs.

Both of my boys are circumsized. It looks better and it will prevent infection later on in life. I have heard now that insurance has quit covering it.

I have circumcised all 3 of my boys and will the one that is due in April. I prefer them to be like Daddy and all the same for sure. I also didn't like the idea of having to maintain the cleaning of it...it can be a nuisance and you definiely have to teach them to do it well.
They have been wonderful about it, my first baby didn't even cry when they did it. I went to a pediatrician/neo-natal circumcision specialist who is also a Rabbi. We went on the 8th day although we are not Jewish. They were not strapped down, and they gave a small shot, a local, and then just barely cut around...it literally took about 5 sec. I was in there w/ all of them. It barely even bled.
