The NT did make the statement that you stated, about the mustard seed. Mark 4:31...and, taken IN CONTEXT, you'll notice another error. Not only is it not the smallest seed of all the seeds in the earth -- it also does NOT result in the greatest of all the herbs in size. Here is the text.

Mark 4:30 And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it? [31] It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth: [32] But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it.

It really is too bad that when the bible was edited and compiled by Constantine and others, that they weren't more careful when it came to making so many errors.

But that what happens when you have a false cult book, based on mythology and fairy tales, huh? Great post, L/J

"And yet God is still sitting on His throne... "

Unfortunately, this is typical type of tepid, illogical reply that most believers come up with. A "blah-blah" talking point that is meaningless, unprovable, and mindless ccult-speak. The depth of uneducation is striking, and sad.

Thanks for putting the work into this! I sorta thot My Fan Club would know about this, but it was nice of you to look it up for them.

Question is: do they *know* that they are fibbing about my fibs? Or are they changing biology as we speak so the mustard seed meets these requirements? And they were so quick to call Me a liar without even reading it. Weird!

I hate to interrupt an orgasm of glee at finding an apparent Bible descrepancy, but...
Both common (English) and scientific (Latin binomial) names for plants are constantly changing. For example, the flower name "Buttercup" means at least three different plants. Scientific names, like the one for Chrysanthemum, are constantly being revised. Look up almost any plant or plant product mentioned in the Bible on a Yahoo! search, and you will find three or four modern species to which scholars might apply that Biblical plant name.
Add the fact that English and Latin binomial names change from country to country, district to district, and scholar to scholar, to the great language barrier from Ancient Greek in Israel to Modern English in America. The double mismatch from "smallest garden seed" (unlike modern mustard seed) and "largest of the garden herbs" (unlike modern mustard plants), proves to anyone open-minded that Jesus couldn't have been talking about the modern mustard we think of.
But Jesus' excellent illustration stands even stronger due to your attack: The mustard He was speaking of had a seed that, to the human mind appeared small, useless, weak and worthless - subject to ridicule. But, when planted in good soil,(representing a receptive human heart), it grows into something bigger than all those things having big strong-looking seeds, and like faith gives comfort to others, (represented in His story by the birds which can nest in the branches of this big "mustard" plant of which Jesus spoke.)

Boy are you in for a big suprise. You need to do some un biased research because you are wrong. The bible has not changed it says today exactly what God intended it to. look at the dead sea scrolls it proves the bible is the same as the original writers wrote it. obvioisly you know nothing of the process that Jewish scribes used to copy and tranlate the bible. or your view is very biased and are way off. now I am talking about the King James Bible.

Break open a mustard seed pod, and inside you'll find many, many tiny seeds that are barely visible to the human eye. (Fresh pods are best for this)

anyone?

I tend to agree with the poster(s) -- about the flaws in both testaments.

i see nothing but shrieking and illogic from believers in reply.
