I guarantee you it is Republicans.The Dems way is to get us to give by taxing the Shite out of us and then saying"See what the Demoncrats do for you,all you Po' Folks?"
Christian and Jewish organizations constitute 90% of the charities,from feeding children to hospitals and I'd guess 85% of those folks are conservative.

I'm not American, so I wouldn't know.

I do know that Bush made large cuts in the % of GDP that is spend on Development Aid. The UN target for development aid is 0.7% of GDP; currently only five countries (with Norway in the lead with 0.92%, Sweden and Holland are the runners up) achieve this.

The United States is the lowest contributor in the OECD as a percentage of GNI, at 0.16%. The lowest! Bush made large efforts to make this number as low as it is today.

Therefor, as a European who cares about this planet, I'm strongly hoping for a Democrat as President in 2 years. I'm sure he or she will strive to make this number go up to what the UN wants and needs. If that would happen, it wouldn't even matter much which person individually donates how much money to charity.
