Everything dies. Your daughter's next pet will die. You will die. She will die. Death is a perfectly normal part of the life cycle, and there is absolutely no way to avoid it. Instead of teaching her to fear it, teach her to accept it for what it is - and how to move on.
And stop blaming God, death is not His fault. If nothing died then nothing could be born, and we would all stagnate.

Teach her that this is the natural life process. That is how I learned and understood death when I was young and it helped me deal with losing loved ones. This will always be hard to lose anyone, but it is a good form of learning about grief and the dying process at a young age. I am so sorry for your loss. If my dog dies it will feel like my own child died, So I can imagine your pain. I have lost sooo many animals and people. Hugs to you and your daughter.

Maybe the lesson here isn't about death, but about finding something in herself better than a pet? Don't get me wrong I love my pets; but they're animals and shouldn't be anyone's "life."
Could be a good time to find some interests outside of the pet?

i'm an adult and i can understand her pain. she has to go through it on her own. you can help her by talking with her. let her know that God has another job for her pet to do. He needed her pet to do a bigger job. let her know even though her pet is not with her, he still loves her, as she love it. i would get her another pet, but, not, too, soon - give her a little time to adjust to her lost and then surprise her with another little treasure. Christmas is coming, and, i bet, she would love to see another cuddly animal under her tree. let her know that you are not replacing the animal that she loved, but this is another animal that needs her love and attention as much as the one she misses so desperately and that they both need each other to make their world feel better and complete. i hope she understands.

here is how I have explain why things die. But first of all God didn't take it. You give no details so we do not know how the animal passed. I tell people that God needed a special Angel to help him in heaven and he chose (person's name or animal's name) to sit by his side and help him. And when God needs them to come to earth, the "Angels" have wings and go where they are needed. Be sure to comfort her, (you do not say how old she is), and do things with her. Tell her to always remember whomever but not to be sad, because they are happy and watching over her where they are.

First you should go to her and make sure she understands that God did not take her pet away from her. That he does not want to hurt her.Make sure she understands that it was her pets time to go.Then also tell her that she will always have you and that you love her. Finally ask her if she would like a new pet.If so buy her one.

by your question you believe in God. you tell her that unfortunately everything dies. God is now taking care of her pet, and her pet has gone to kitty, doggie, fish what ever heaven. That you know how hard it is to loose someone/thing so precious to her. Let her grieve, to grieve is healthy. I'd tell her when she is ready to give her love to another pet you'll get her another. It is really tough I know but it is one of life's unfortunate realities.

Why are you blaming god for this. Oh yeah, he created us just to destroy us. Everything dies. I hate when priest say that God needed another angel, and so he take someone that you loved cuz you don't need them. They act like he's an insensitve person. Everything dies cuz we're not perfect cuz perfect people don't die.
