No, if you put your code into an ATM machine backwards, there is no actual human being monitoring such things. It will just not give you your money!

Someone did try to come up with this idea but the banks didn't want to do it. It's been proposed in a few states as legislation, and it hasn't gone anywhere.

Is it the same concept as that email that says you can dial a certain number on your cell and the police come within 2 minutes cuz it's a direct call? Cuz 911 isn't enough?

Alert the police? Alert the police? I phoned them direct once and they said if there weren't any personal injuries involved it would take them 1/2 hour to get there.
