okay well today i asked my mom if i could get a second peircing in my ear. i want it next to my first one, on the part that has "fat" on it. she said that i couldnt until i got a 80 average on my next report card. shes always bribing me with my grades. she also thinks that i dont deserve it. but im trustworthy, respectful, honest, i always do the right thing, never ask for something that i cant get when i go shopping, im caring, and some-what responsible. how can i convince her tht i deserve it, am not to young(13), and tht i am being bribbed with something tht i cant get, and she know tht(my average is 73 and she thinks tht im ganna fail grade 8(50-) and that im stupid)

In real life, when you're trying to make money to survive its not going to matter worth crap that you're a nice person and trustworthy.

its going to matter that you know how to work, and you know how to do your best, and how to focus and get the job done.

That is what your mom is trying to instill in you. You should appreciate that she cares enough, and you should grow up enough to realize that its a lesson you need to learn.

If you want something, you have to work for it to get it. In this case, you want that piercing, and in order to get it you need to bring your grades up. You're smart, you're intellegent, and you're driven, so do it and get it over with and stop complaining.

you're 13...so that means you're in what, grade 7 or 8? your mom is reasonable for wanting you to get higher grades because really, it's grade 7/8 and if you're only getting 73's now, what are you going to be getting in high school? maybe she's trying to instill a good work ethic in your now, so that you don't struggle in high school or be lazy. if you want that piercing, then work for it and keep those grades up.

Why cant you get an 80 average? Do you think maybe you could get closer to it if you spent more time on your studies?

I think maybe you should consider Mom's point of view. I'd want my child to get an 80 or better, too. 73 is pretty borderline.
