IMPORTANT:

WHATEVER you do, DON'T even consider the Herald Square Hotel. It's a dump. Some of the rooms don't even have private baths - you have to walk down the hall. And, this place has been reported several different times for BEDBUGS and FLEAS.

Yes, Googler who recommended this dive - you got yourself two points, BUT it's at the expense of someone who could have ruined their entire vacation by paying attention to you. Does that bother you at all? .

Just blocks from Macy's and the Empire State Building, this budget hotel is a convenient place to stay when you'd rather spend your money on shopping and sightseeing. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable and everyone gets satellite DirecTV and free high-speed Internet access. Various room sizes make it a practical place for both single travelers and families. Pictures adorning the walls come from Life magazine, the building's original owners.
