Hey I'm a sophomore in a private high school too. I'm a guy, but whatever doesn't mean I can't relate...

I don't like the whole popular crowd idea. I've learned that the popular crowd really is just one hot, really self-centered girl that has convinced most of the class that she is the coolest person in school, and has a group of people around her that basically mimic her. That doesn't mean she's the obvious "most popular girl" cuz there might be a lot of them, but they basically all think and act the same way. In other words, if you want to be in the "popular crowd," learn to act like them. I myself am in a group of friends that are considered cool, but not amazing. Pretty low profile. I prefer it that way cuz you realize that when you're not in the popular crowd you get to see how many people hate them lol

To get guys to notice you.. that's pretty difficult. For some guys to notice you, you just have to be really hot and dress like a whore. That's probably not the kind of guy you want to notice you, since he's obviously shallow. If you're looking for a nice guy for a boyfriend, just be more loud than you normally are. Don't be obnoxious, and don't be the loudest girl in the class, but just kind of try to be a little more outgoing. That will make more guys notice you since you'll be a little more toward the center of attention. If you like a guy, don't be nervous when you see him. Seriously. Being shy isn't always bad, but it doesn't get guys to notice you. When you look at him, smile and say hi and stuff like that. Just kind of... I'm not sure how to put it. I guess the best way to say it is you have to try to get him to think about you, you know? If you like a guy, make it your goal to make him think about you later that day. Talk to him a couple times, maybe call him once or twice.

I know I'm not being that specific but there's no true way to get guys to notice you... just be yourself.

Hope I helped.

ps - Here's a quick idea. If you like a guy, when you're with your friends, call him. Let your friends talk and stuff cuz they'll probably go crazy like groups of girls always do when they're trying to talk on one phone. But that's really worked with me, when I didn't know a girl to well and she called me with friends. I guess the point of doing it with friends is so you're not nervous and there won't be awkward silence. But then next time you see him you can say sorry about your friends and start a conversation.

Anyway good luck

Just be yourself, and don't worry about it. If you're phony, people will pick up on it in a hurry. As for guys noticing you, dress nicely, be polite and friendly, make sure your personal hygiene is good. Try to strike a midpoint between overly talkative and not talking at all. Above all, don't be afraid.
