Look I realize my sister has to take her cat to the vet you all don't have to keep telling us this we have a wonderful vet who lets us make payments all of our animals vaccinations are up yo date and they are all very well taken care of. It is a Saturday night and YES it costs extra $100 extra to be exact to bring a pet on an emergency visit it is close to christmas and no we can not afford it. however come monday a.m. we have every intention on taking him I was just curious to see if any one had any info on what they may think it could be or if anyone has had a similar experience to maybe narrow it down so the vet can have an idea what to test for first so please all of you "concerned" respondents please don't jump to think we won't take our very loved very well taken care of 10 year old cat to the vet (cats don't live to be 10 by not being brought to the vet)

My 9 yr old cat got sick like that suddenly, too. He was fine when I went to work and 12 hrs later he was sick. I couldn't do anything for him until he went to the vet. They took a blood test and he has a thyroid problem. After a few weeks on the meds he was back to normal but will always be on meds. Thyroid can cause lots of problems. We had to get his meds just right or he gets sick again. Look it up and see if the symptoms are similar. If they don't stay on their meds they will not survive. But you can get meds with a prescription on petmeds.com. Good luck.

Her kidneys are failing. I hope you didn't let it go too far before taking her to the vet ? It's probably too late, but I'd get her to the vet a.s.a.p. IF and I do mean IF, she can be helped, then you will need to keep her on a special diet the rest of her life.

some human beings don't have any money to bypass to the overall practitioner ourselves Anne, a lot less pay for an animal to bypass to the vet. i'm confident she wasn't attempting to disillusioned you or all of us else. i'm dealing with the same capture 22 situation with my cat and that i'm calling the animal administration man or woman in my city considering we do not have a humane society.

DEFINATELY TAKE IT TO THE VET!!
from my experience it sounds like it could be feline leukemia they can do a simple test for $30 or so and you will know, if the cat is in pain then you should put it to sleep and not let it suffer. it is the owners responsibility.

He needs to see a vet ASAP. It could be diabetes, kidney failure, cancer, feline AIDS or feline leukemia. Don't wait around on this! Those symptoms are NOT the type to disapear on their own!

it may also be feline leukemia. One other symptoms may be that her nose or gums turn white. In any case take her to the vet, they can tell alot better what is going on with her.

Good Lucl =)
