This happens to me occasionally when I am alone in a public place and some random girl is alone there too. (I mean it is literally a under 1 second) BTW, I'm in my mid 20's and so are the girls.
Is that your way of checking out guys, without making it seem like you're interested in him?

This is a technique a few women may have borrowed from Memoirs of a Geisha. By doing this, it seems to men that we have (quote from the book) "given [ourselves] over very briefly to strong feelings [we were] trying to hide." Makes you wonder about her, doesn't it? Then she's doing it right. Good for her.
