Ok, so theres this guy I really like at my school, but he's really hard to read and I get really confused. Like he'll wait on me after class, sit in the cafeteria (which is where I am, this change has started to happen in the last week) instead of going off campus, smile at me a lot, stare at me, want to be near me, etc.
But then he also asks other girls for pens/pencils when I'm pretty close to him, gives them a lot of attention (beyond friendly, more flirty) and stuff. How do I know he doesn't do this to lots of other girls on a daily basis?
It's just a huge ball of mixed signals. I've tried to mask my feelings for him completely because of this, he's in two of my classes and if it ends up he doesn't like me it would be awkward for the rest of the year.

My opinion is yes he likes you. The first bit you say he obviously does, i mean you wouldn't do all that to someone you don't like!! The part of him involving other girls could simply be he is looking for your reaction, i mean if you look all jealous he will know you like him too, thats a way of him finding out!! Guys can be very hard to work out, you never really know whats going on in their heads. If you get on well and you talk to him why not suggest going to the movies or invite him round to watch a dvd or something. If he agrees then you may be on to something, if not you've not lost anything cos you only asked as a friend!! Good luck

Sometimes the direct approach is best, just ask. But if that seems too bold for your liking, look for the following signs. Pay attention to your conversations with the person in question.
1) Does this person show a special interest in having a conversation with you and, once started, make an effort to keep that conversation going?
2) Has this person taken a sudden interest in your life and hobbies? This is a sure sign that he or she is interested in something.
3) Other elements of body language include frequent eye contact, holding your gaze and looking down before looking away.
4) Does the person you're wondering about just plain smile at you a lot?

This guy seems to be a pretty flirty guy. the way i see it is he is saying "if you don't make a move i can have anyone of these other girls." i say play his game be like that to other guys around him and see how he reacts. just go with the flow. whatever happens happens.

it sucks cause he prollly does like you and he just doesnt want to make it obvious...
i knw excatly how u feel...
i do that to this 1 girl all the time and we flirt but i like her and im gunna start givving her attention and bak off for a bit and have her come for attention uknw,.....?

I think he likes you. He's probably being a little shy around you because of this. His behavior towards other girls may be to make you jealous.
