I followed the recipe to the letter. I have no idea but I did hear that if you don't use brand new baking soda or baking powder that they will be flat. Is this true?? If not what went wrong. I don't want to continue until I know. Thanks.

Hi Lucy !!!

Baking Powder, is the key ingredient in many dishes that need to rise up!!! Also; you should take a "colander" and shake the flour through it to separate it. This is essential in baking!!!!
Every good cook, needs to experiment, so please don't be discourage!!!! I'm pretty sure that they taste delicious any way!!!!
