I have been wondering lately what is the purpose of the human being.

Cats have many purposes. They are experts at rodent killing. They can provide companionship (dependent mostly on how they are treated); they can keep younger children and pets in line (a carefully placed paw smack, with claws as appropriate); they can be watchpets (cats, even when asleep, become readily aware of changes in sound, smell, or sometimes even changes in a room that are imperceptable to a human). Oh yeah, and they can rule their domain with an iron paw.

Cats are very loving and very affectionate! Did you ever see "Meet the Parents?" I totally believe what the dad said in that movie that cats are great because they make you work for their affection and once they love you, they will not easily go off to be with another person.

Well Frankly, I believe that for my pre-teen her kitten is the only one who listens to all the crappy things that happen in her day. The very best laugh therapist,as well as the only one who really listens and understands her. For my three yr old her kitten is the only one who runs into more stuff than she in their mad dashes through the house. They play tag and hid and seek, if my little one is not paying enough attention to the kittens they pounce her and bat at her. If she is to rough they give her a little scratch never much of anything just enough. I use that time to teach gentleness and kindness, cause and effect.

My cat slept under the couch all day, rose about 8 and hung around the front door, meowing at us. When I opened the door, my cat shot out the door. We saw no sign of it untl about six or seven AM in the morning. Cats have sex, eat and sleep. It's good work if you can find it.

Cats keep the mouse population down by catching the and killing them. Sometimes they bring the mouse home as a gift to you.
If they are an indoor cat then they keep you company and purr on your lap.

If you have cats, you don't have mice (or any other nasty little thing that scurries about).
If you have cats, you don't need an electric blanket.
If you have cats, you don't need television.
If you have cats, you won't ever get a swelled head (they're very good at ignoring you and putting you in your place if they're pissed at you).
But if you have cats and if they like you, you won't ever feel alone.

In my experience, cats like to cat nap, eat, purr, be a furry friend when you need one, and do little things to bother people!

Their purrs can instantly lower your blood pressure. They are a source of amusement and entertainment. Some of them have even warned their humans of fires or other dangers. I had one that jumped on the back of someone that tried to hit me. Scared the living daylights out of him.
