I can go you one better and tell you that you can make a whole twinkie cake:

1 yellow box cake mix. Bake as instructed on the box in a 13x9x2 inch pan.

Mix: 5 Tablespoons of Flour
1 Cup milk in a saucepan. Boil until thick, stirring constantly.
Set aside to cool

In a large mixing bowl:

1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup Crisco (shortening)
1/2 cup margarine
1 tsp. Vanilla

Beat until fluffy, add cooled milk mixture, beat until fluffy. Cut cake layer wise. Put all of the filling between the 2 layers. Store in a proper container and refrigerate, preferable overnight.

Hope this helps! :}

Yes you can. I've seen twinkie pans (kinda like a cupcake pan) at bed bath and beyond.
