Why do girls like muscles on men?

Media makes it seem that way, but many girls don't really care. Of course everyone has a preference to what they want in a man/woman. People tend to like those who look healthy, that is part of nature, and the process of evolution. Those who are healthy will survive and have more offspring, it's natural programming. On the surface it also gives a sense of security, as a strong man can physically protect a girl (in nature). But that doesn't really come into play in our society, as we have laws and order.

Girls are less interested in physical attraction than guys are, and I promise you that datable girls will be won over by a mind and heart, not looks.

I have thought long and hard about this question and here's my answer. A well maintained man a lot of times demonstrates how disciplined he is. If he can get up and work out and keep himself in great shape then a lot of times he does the same in all aspects of his life. This is not always true, sometimes they only care about how they look and if this is the case, eww... muscles or no they're losers. Still i have a man in mind who is very well defined and he's also very responsible and intelligent, he's tasty from all directions. So in short women see muscles as a man who has it together enough to go to the gym regularly. Plus a bigger man make average women feel small, and every girl loves that.

I think it is a primal instinct that is related to natural selection. Females want to choose the male who will protect her and give her the children who have the best chance for survival. BUT remember, not every woman likes the muscle men. I do not care for someone who is vain about their body or overly muscular. A woman with depth of character who would make a good wife will look at the character of a man first and foremost.

Because, they make us feel safe and they make men look so handsome, and strong, but I'm not crazy about big muscles, I just like a nice toned man, with a nice 6 pack, and good arms.
