There a host of things that can cause this, from heat and viruses, spyware. If you've eliminated the virus and the spyware. Heat can shut you down. My simple solution is one) clean your fans. Two) Take the sides or at least one side off the tower. (unplug the system while doing this) keep your hands out of the computer when you reboot, keep kids away and pets. Things in there can kill. With the sides off you increase the air flow and that will help keep it cool. If heat is the problem this will let you know. If the system does not shut down while your running with the side off then you know that you fan (s) are not doing the job...either not working or not working effectively and you can buy new and better fans.......if this doesn't sole the problem then you should see a tech.

A faulty powersupply could only have been part of the problem. The best advice anyone can give is to have you backup your data and try a clean install of Windows. If you are still having problems then you need to dig a bit deeper or bring your PC to a trusted computer repair shop.

Stay away from geeksquad at all costs.
