The mythbusters tested the myth that if you do that, your stomach would burst and busted the myth. There would be no way you could swallow enough diet coke and then enough menthos to blow up your stomach.
From the site of the best dietcoke menthos disply ever (www.eepybird.com) they document hundreds of tests. They explain the science behind the reaction there.
Even though the mythbusters called it busted...the researchers still quote the following
'So is it dangerous to drink soda and eat Mentos? Well, a lot of the fizz goes away as you drink. Then when bubbles are released in your stomach, your stomach can expand a bit, and it also has ways of releasing excess pressure. Do not, repeat, do not be stupid and test the limits of your stomach. Don't even think about it.'

You will probably end up with an upset stomach from too much coke, but at least your breath will be fresh from the mentos. Nothing dangerous will happen. Check out the myth busters website on this topic. I do recommend if you are goofy enough to try this for yourself that you stay close to bathroom facilities, as you will for sure give your bladder one heck of a work out!

You will definitely die immediately, i have recieved before this kind of email, stating that a young boy drank a bottle of coke with a mentos, he die after drinking it with mentos. i think the investigators also carried out this experience before, i saw the pictures putting a mentos into the coke it fizzles way up high. it's really scary...

Watch "Mythbusters." You'll get a lot of gas. If you drop the Mentos into the bottle of diet coke, you'll get a fountain.
