Try some hot tea with honey or sugar, lemon, a shot or two of brandy. (if you don't like tea try it with coffee it's really good.

You can even make this with hot water sugar, lemon, a shot or two of brandy

Get some halls fruit breezers they are really good they do not have that mentholated taste.

You could have strep throat, the season for it is ON....I just got over it, and you'll need antibiotics if it is.

If you gargle with hot salt water, that helps fight the infection and the pain, but it burns like a son of a gun at first. It willl help though. Put about 1 teaspoon of salt in about 1/2 cup of hot water, and gargle until it's gone.

Also, if you can get some Chloraseptic spray from the store, it has a numbing agent in it that helps a lot.

Hope you feel better soon!

old time sore throat medicine:
two ounces of moonshine--substitute a good 90 to 100 proof bourbon.
juice of one lemon
one tablespoon of honey. stir together, drink it down and go to bed, piling an extra quilt on top and sweat it out.

there's very little to do for that, time will make it get bettter, normally only a day or two. the only thing that helps is chicken noodle soup, but the effect is only temporary. Solution is move to a warmer climate where you won't get sick as often.
