Do you think that it's fair that since I go to the movies alot with my friends, but me and my sister do not get an allowence, and our chores are manditory, not something that is rewarded with money. I can't change my parent's view on this. I am not old enough to get a real job, and I can't babysit because my neighborhood doesn't have any children that need a babysitter.

My parents get mad at me when i start asking for too much money. The tickets cost 6.25 and I guess after all things I buy, it is like 9.50 a movie trip.

The only money I get is from holidays and super special occasions. Is it fair that my parents get mad at me for this? Where can I work up money?

i have teenagers who love to spend time and money with their friends also
they too have "chores" around the house they are expected to do and are not given an allowance to do so....
however when they go out with friends their father or I will give them the money to pay for whatever... that is if we have the money to give them that week...
to earn the extra money themselves both have little "side" jobs they do
for example our daughter will offer to do light housecleaning for family and/or friends for extra cash
our son will help his father in the shop (cleaning car parts, sweeping or whatever odd job he can find to do) for his extra pocket money..
most of their friends do the same thing...
you should try talking with your parents about this...it may not be that your parents get mad at you because you ask for to much money "all the time" it may be that they just don't have the extra money to easily give and feel bad about it ...(but wish they did)
ask your parents if its ok for you to check with your local community center or church (most will have a bulletin board for announcements or whatever) to see if there are small jobs you can do for some extra money...
get your friends involved also...they too may want to have some cash on hand that they can say they earned themselves :D
good luck and best wishes

Most parents dont give allowance unless u get super good grades in school.
U can ask your ma or pa -Can u wash their car or something extra for extra money.
Do yard work for the elderly and make some money.
Your parents feed u so u should not put them down.

sit down with your parents and have a nice conversation. tell them that you understand that they will not give you an allowance for the chores you have. and ask them what you can do around the house to be able to earn some money. what do you have to lose?

No i don't think it's fair. But my folks were the same way. But eventaulyl i got a job and they became less picky. I still live with them, at least i'm glad i don''t pay the house bills.

You should have an allowance, but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't help out around the house unless it's for money.
