I have a tat there. I believe I was an 8 when I got it. I'm a 6 now. I have had no issue, but I have always been the same weight, sometimes I'm just less toned. If you're going from a 10 to a 4, you probably won't have an adverse response, but if you're going from a 20 to a 16, you very well may.
I would discuss it with my tattooist, and the recommendation of "use the tat as a reward for the lost weight" is probably a good idea. All of mine were done in that "self-reward" manner, and I have found that they are also a reminder of my improvements on myself and my life. One was for when I quit smoking after 9 years of doing so. It has done a fabulous job of reminding me that I do not want to allow myself to be a smoker anymore.

My husband has several tattooes and lost a lot of weight. Losing the weight did nothing to his tattooes. They still look good.

Yes, not going to lie. Of all my tattoos...with my stomach tattoo (which stretches hip bone to hip bone going up a few inches from it) I had a death grip on the chair the entire time. My other tattoos were literally nothing.

I don't think that's the best spot for it. If you ever plan on getting pregnant, your skin will stretch out and your tattoo will look awful. Why don't you get it on the side of your hip instead? Its a better location in the long run.

skin is fairly elastic, so it shouldn't be that big of a deal. talk about it with your tattoo artist.

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!
Get started today!

Think about if you decide to have kids. Will it be in an area that may end up with stretch marks from being pregnant?
