Because people are stupid, I have many Muslim friends, and none of them are bombers, people hate anything they don't understand. This was the same with the world wars, although this was different as there was more honour, we knew who we were fighting, and at times hand to hand, not people hiding and killing kids, their cowards, no disrespect, but the enemy are always hated such as the Germans, and Japanese were for many years after the war, and sadly by some even today. I sorry but you choices are limited, you can just get on with your life and try and put it behind you, or try and stand against your fellow Muslims who are the bombers because until someone does things will not change, and remember there are those Muslims who stand up and say they are against the killings, and then there next in line, so it's hard for people to trust you when this happens.
May peace be with you

You are facing a problem which can be described an identity problem. Because you are a Muslim, it has also become an emotion-based problem. That's why you are asking:

“Why do people hate me so much, i only follow a faith that means alot to me”

I suggest you read Khalil Gibran's poems and visit the following site of an Indian movie:

http://www.rediff.com/news/1999/jun/21us.htm

It discusses the film, My Son the Fanatic, produced in English language . It is an interesting and entertaining film about a Pakistani cab driver, Parvez, portrayed by an Indian actor, Om Puri. Rent the DVD and watch how Parvez copes with an unexpected problem of his son embracing fundamentalist Islam.

This will help you relax and understand the basic cause of the social relationships turning sour. After you develop an attitude of tolerance and stop discussing religions, you will find the attitude of your friends changing towards you.

Its because many Muslim people do not respect Britain as a nation. You live here, yet mock English people because you think yourself better due to your religion. You live in Britain and you expect our culture / ways to adapt around yours.
All the war and hatred in Muslim country's only shows people that your faith causes pain and wrong in the world. May I also point out that Innocent people around the world have died because of your religion.
I understand that war is not what your religion is about, however, it is being tarnished by these extremists, hence the hatred by some people.
You demand equality, yet your faith does not give it. Look at the way your faith treats gays, women and your own kind in some ways. I agree that many religions do the same but do they carry out the same Hatred?
You are a Muslim and people do not see the Muslim faith as being a good faith anymore hence why people might feel hatred.
I am sorry you feel hatred, I agree its wrong but I'm afraid its how emotions are at the moment with most people if they truly admit it.

I don't hate you, or your religion. I met a woman in a shop the other day, in head dress, not veil. I didn't see an enemy or potential bomber but another human being, and importantly, someone with sufficient courage to show her faith.
--That Cheeky Lad.
Muslims, especially those who are a part of British or USA or other non middle East societies have the right to be regarded as any other person would. It is only what I call Nutter extremist any of us have to worry about, and sadly that includes non-extremist Muslims!

I'll tell you. They hate you because while the bombers may be doing it based on simple hatred or anger about politics or the foreign policy of large rogue nations they SAY that their murders are done in the name of Allah. Military conquest IS part of the Islamic faith. Its all very well for liberals to respect religion but its dangerous for us to be so accepting of a religion that seeks to convert you or destroy you. You dont need Islam to be a good person and its likely to interfere with it. Basically its as I said - people hate you because atrocities are done in the name of your faith. Perhaps you'll say that they're not true Muslims - what about the Taliban blowing up the 3000 statue of Buddha? I expect you agree with that.

Glad to meet a non-bomb Muslim.

If others hate a community, the reason is within them. Nothing in the world happens without a reason. If you believe in a creator and thinks that he has control over everything, then look into yourself and the life of your own society. You will find the reason. But the willingness to admit our own mistake is the first sign of improvement. That Islam doesn't have. Islam as a religion, hates criticism. In Islamic countries there is no freedom for other religions. There is no freedom of the press.

If you have a valuable faith, let it undergo the test and prove it's credence.

People hate us because of what some muslim people do. They think that what these people do is islamic, and that all muslims are like that. For some people, you can't blame them, maybe they have not seen much muslims, and the ones they do see are the ones on the news, and so they think that this is what we believe in. But for some people, they know that in Islam these things are wrong, and they know that not all muslims are like this, but they still hate muslims, because they are just racist.

Just keep believing in what you believe in, follow the right path, forget those idiots. Tell them about our Islam, and if they choose to hate you, then just ignore and carry on with your life.

This is a sad state of affairs, where a few people gives everybody else of that group a bad name. They don't hate you personally Abdul but they are frightened of what they dont know and understand. You look alien to them your beliefs sound alien to them and they feel under threat. It's not nice but it's human nature. During the war people with Germanic names were treated in much the same way and many changed their names so they would fit in. Even German dogs had their breed names changed so people wouldn't attack them in the street. I'm sure you are a decent caring man but at the present state of affairs this will be overlooked by many. Do not despare it will get better given time.

May your god walk with you!

Unfortunately, some of the people fear that all Muslims are bombers as you said. It will take time for this terror to subside until then regrettably, you will have to deal with this unfair attitude. Be yourself, a good man that you are and people will come to know the difference between you and the fanatic Muslims. God bless you.
