It seems that we rarely accept "here and now" for just that, I am thinking about his because of the end of another year, of course the older I get the more I think about things like this, at 41 it's like I am still waiting for something like I was when i was 15 and waiting for my drivers license, only now I am waiting for my newest born to stop being colic! lol, so what are you waiting for? are we waiting away our lives and missing the days? will we remember back in the day only to remember all this waiting? any thoughts?

Is it because of conceptualizing what life should be like? That we should have this and that. We should get married, have a big house, have kids. You're right about living in the here and now and just let things be. To really be in the moment and aware of what's right at this minute. Because most people have their minds either in the past which is over or the future which is not here yet. Soon this will become part of the past too and just become another memory.

We are guilty of this to a certain degree. But only you can put your life on hold. Surly you are not literally just setting around waiting. Maybe it just feels that way. It probably seems like you are "just" because it monopolizes all your thought time. If this is the case then you need to retrain your thought pattern. Find things to fill in when you are concentrating on just the one thing. Believe you me, there is a lot more to the world than one thing happening at a time. So broaden your horizons and think beyond the most distracting thing that is going on. You have to prepare yourself for this, by having a alternative thought ready to replace this every time your mind wonders in that direction. The benefit of this is, time will go faster, and you want notice the present problem to be as bad. This actually makes our life run smoother and we are happier. Take it from the number 1 worry wart in the world. But I am no longer that person. :)
