Advil can cause stomach bleeding when mixed with alcohol. Period.
When you combine alcohol and ANY downer (Nyquil, in this case), you run the risk of seizures, coma, and death.
Lay off the booze until you're well. If you've got the flu, you shouldn't feel like drinking in the first place.

Nyquil is high in alcohol, so you're adding alcohol to that, but if it's a small amt of alcohol you drink, it shouldn't hurt.
Nyquil also has tylenol, which can be very bad for the liver, and advil *ibuprophen, is a blood thinner, which alcohol is as well.
All around, alcohol and tylenol affect the liver, alcohol and ibuprophen affect the blood, and too much alcohol can also affect the liver.
I don't think it would OD you with small amounts of any of these things, but to be on the safe side, don't drink until you're well and off meds. Besides, alcohol breaks down immunities and drinking when you have the flu will only make it take longer for you to get well!

Are you taking these deliberately to cure you of the flu, or just because you feel like it? On most medicines like these, the warning label says not take with alcohol, so right off the bat, that is definitely the wrong thing to do, and i'm sure it doesn't help much to take Advil AND NyQuil at the same time, it could seriously alter your brain's function, sort of like a mind altering drug, and should absolutely not be done. I suggest you choose one or the other, which ever works best for you.

Depending how much you take of the advil and nyquil and how much alcohol you consume plays a big role in harming your body.
If you take the right dose for your weight of advil and nyquil you should be okay, and if your not doing it all the time.

Nyquil has alcohol in it. So combining just Nyquil and alcohol could be bad. Advil is Ibuprofen, which is hard on the liver just by itself. Combine it with other ingredients,.....well you get the picture. Doing this on occasion is not bad, but on a regular basis you'll tear up your liver.
If you're sick, you need to concentrate on stuff that'll help you, like orange juice, which is full of Vitamin C. Soup is excellant for sicknesses like the flu. Hope you feel better soon.

Drinking a beer or two with your cold medicine isn't going to hurt you, but it's not going to help you, either. I would me more careful to make sure that you're not doubling up on the Advil doseage, which could give you serious stomach trouble.

Are you being serious??? You should NEVER mix alcohol with any type or drugs, over-the-counter or not,. You used the word "apparently" in your question which leads me to believe that you have just heard of this stuff from your friends and havent actually tried it yet. And the way that all of this is going to affect you could be drastically different from the way it affects your friends. This dangerous combination could end up being fatal. So please, for your safety, do not take medicine or any type of drugs and mix it with alcohol.
