I am making a yellow cake that has cranberries in it can i sweeten the cranberries with adding sugar and letting it sit in the fridge for a while and then add it syrup and all to the batter or is there another way to do it???????

You can buy presweetened cranberries at the supermarket. Craisins brand is good.

Buy Craisins from Cranberry Sprays They are sweetened dried cranberries. They are perfect for baking with. I f you try to sweeten the berries you may wind up turning your batter red.Whatever you don't use, you can eat as a snack or put in a batch of orange muffins.
