If it's for kids, definitely. For adults, if you want to.

Yes definetley!! I always do and if yourve thought enough of the person to actually buy them a present then why not, its a nice gesture to complete the gift!! I got a present last night from a friend i wont be seeing christmas day - and this gift needed batteries - wrapped seaprately with chocolate there were the 3 batteries i needed!!!!! yay!!!!! i usually wrap in with the gift. Go for it - then its instant play with whatever you have given :-)

It's ok to buy batteries with the gift, but, if your like me and are on a budget but want to give nice gift to all, and batteries are super expensive i'd say don't. I mean they don't have to use every gift they get right away anyways, and besides that you'll end up with gifts that need batteries also so in the end you'll just be exchanging batteries for christmas (lol).

sometimes. I guess (I know this sounds horrible) it depends on how much you like the person, or wether you have bought the kind of gift that can't be repackaged after opening (i.e: something with a thin, taut plastic wrapper over it). But as a gag, I once wrapped a battery separately and taped it to the main gift, because my boyfriend complains that since his b-day is christmas eve, people combine his presents. Happy birthday! here's a battery! lol

I bought a package of batteries, and on that package it said "batteries not included".- Just kidding
If it's my older sister, I actually install the batteries.
If it is for anyone else, I include the batteries inside the same box with the gift.

You give gifts that do not work?
Imagine the joy of a kid opening it's present and seeing the gift they adored and then finding that they cannot play with it.
Imagine the delight of the parent on finding that they are expected to fork out immediately for batteries!
I would suggest that etiquette and consideration would suggest two sets of batteries be included.

It's not necessary but i always do. Batteries are expensive and if you give someone a gift that requires them it's nice to include them.

First of all, who is that annoying man person that seems to get the first response in to a lot of people's questions???
As for your question, it's not mandatory that you do put them in with the gift, but it is a very nice gesture..
