Ramadan, as several mentioned above, is the 9th month of the Islamic year. This month is very important to muslims because not only is it fasting time, it was the month the Quran was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (SAW). Therefore, many muslims try to read the whole Quran during this month. Muslims also try to be on there best behavior because the rewards in this month are unimaginable. At the same time, the sins are counted as more because Shaytaan (the devil) is locked up so what a muslim does wrong is because he choose to. At the end of this wonderful month, a celebration called Eid-ul Fitr is held. Most Muslims attend a prayer at the Masjid and then gather with family and friends to celebrate.

I think the answer to this question does not provide any good piece of information. The question should have been What is Ramadan? Anyways, here it is:
Ramadan is the month of fasting and praying extensively. Muslims stop eating and drinking nearly an hour before sunrise and break the fast at sunset. Ramadan is the name of the 9th month of the Islamic (Lunar) calender and, depending upon moon sighting, can be of 29 or 30 days. It is a spiritual exercise to understand what hunger is and thank God (Allah in Arabic) for what he has given to all of us. Muslims organize special prayers, spend money and food among poor, and follow the spirit of the religion to be extra generous towards people around them - irrespective of their religion, race, or ethnic background.
