We don't need to reduce the gulf, we need to eliminate it. Make English the official language of the USA.. We would no longer be required to have things printed in both languages. Speeches, legal documents, bulletins, instructions, etc. would be in English. Anyone who doesn't speak English would have a difficult time functioning in an all English speaking country. They would need to learn English or go back to their own country. No gulf, no problem.

If people want to work and live in the United States, it means they really need to sit down and take the English As A Second Language class, or ESL. English is the dominant language in the USA, it's the language of government, and of business, becoming moreso around the world, too. Don't thank us, thank Great Britain for that...besides, english is really easy to learn,
if people really sat down and decided to learn 50 words a day, or even 20, they'd have it in no time at all. It really is that easy.

Spanglish? Maybe! I have no problems with people that speak Spanish or that there are instructions or signs in Spanish. I do think it would be easier on a person to know English since that is the 1st language in the U.S.A.
