Where can i take foreign money and exchange it for American?

Does anyone know a place in Chicago,Illinois where i can take foreign money and exchange it for American money?

Most currencies are exchangeable at almost all branches of most U.S. banks, in some cases you will have to return after they have exchanged the money with the MAIN Branch. Major branches are the best to exchange all types of foreign currency. Some small amounts of odd currencies will not be accepted (Russian rubles) most times will have a 100-dollar cutoff for the bank to accept them. Some types of currencies are not accepted at all if they are from a country with daily exchange fluctuations UNLESS you are a major banker at the bank you are trying to exchange them at. The bank will let you know the cut off amount is. In a worse case situation you may have to return to an international airport to have the money exchanged.

Always try to exchange your currency before you leave the country. You can lose sometimes up to 25% exchanging it in the U.S.A.

You can get foreign currency at national banks (large banks that are spread across the US, but usually not local S&L's, small banks or credit unions), but you usually have to order it. They might not have it right there on hand. Makes sense, right? We use the USD. What you might be able to do in lieu of that is to get them an American Express traveler's cheque card. They can use it like a credit card, and I believe, even use it at an ATM. That is often the cheapest way to exchange currency abroad, anyway...thru and ATM. Otherwise, give them the cash, because it's going to be a hassle getting it in Euro form in the states. They won't have any problem getting a Euro in...you guessed it...France. (LOL...ok, I'll quit joking).
