well a tie wouldnt make me feel committed but i think you should make sure your bf knows how you feel and knows that you dont feel committed. if you really care about him the last thing that you want to do is play games with his heart and hurt him. good luck and merry christmas

You have every right to be jealous, and if I were you I would feel the same way. You have to be strong and you should have the courage to have a serious talk with your boyfriend, ask him how would he feel if you went on vacation with a male friend to an exotic place without him. If he says he doesn't mind, then honestly he doesn't love you as much as you think, because lovers get jealous. If he loves you as much as you think, he would want to take you on vacation, he wouldn't and couldn't stay away from you while being with that other girl, spending each and every moment with her in Bali, going swimming together and dancing and having one hell of a vacation. I think they will surely end up in bed. It is time to make your boyfriend chose between you and that girl, period. Don't be afraid of ruining your relationship with him, you can always find someone else. By the way, why doesn't your boyfriend bring you along on this vacation, tell him you wish to come with them and see his reaction, if he is so happy about it and thrilled, then that is a good thing, if you notice that the reaction on his face is an unhappy one and if he doesn't encourage you then my dear he prefers to be with her alone if you know what I mean.

A tie doesn't mean commitment unless you plan on tying him up till he commits (and I don't think its going to last for long that way)

He'll read into it what he wants, but I wouldn't consider that a "Commitment" type of gift.

No commitment implied, only commitment would be if you tied him to the alter with it...
