If we are talking about the original Xbox, I would say it's not worth buying now because within in the next year, companies will stop making games for the Xbox. On the flip side, since Xbox is getting phased out, games will be dirt cheap. You will start seeing more games sell between $5-$15. I have a pre-modded Xbox and I am loving all the old and new games. There are some excellent games on the Xbox. And they look even better on an HDTV.
If we are talking about the Xbox 360, it's not worth buying because of the cost. These gaming systems should not be selling above $300. Any more than that, you should just buy a computer. The games on it have yet to impress me. Many of the games are marginally better in graphics than the original Xbox. The 360 has more power and features than the original, but companies are just not taking advantage of it yet. Plus, tons of bugs in the 360.

An x-box is still worth buying and it has games on it too! You can play the games on the x-box anytime! There is nothing not to like about an x-box!
