we're good friends, work together, eat dinner once a week together, and occassionally go catch a movie together. other than that that's about it, never anything intimate. i just need a man's opinion--help

Generally, it means that the relationship is very serious and he wants to take it to an even more serious step. This sounds to me like someone is misreading the messages that are being sent out or that someone is sending the wrong message.

Errr....why didnt you ask him at the time?
He could have found it, nicked it, got it from an ex but figures he doesnt know any females and cant wear it himself. Is it a dress-ring or engagement ring? Unless he proposed...I'd take it that he doesnt know enough females to give it to...or that he's REALLY dumb or immature and figures you know he's proposed.
