Beside taking her to the vet. I bought her 2 years ago at a pet store, but the worker didn't know the breed. Can anyone tell me how to figure it out? Or websites that help?

If you bought her at a pet store and payed less than $100 for her, she is most likely a Domestic Short Hair or a Domestic Long Hair. The pet store sould have been able to tell you if she was a pedigreed breed. DSH/DLH cats are the most common pet cats. They aren't really a breed, it's more just a name for a cat that doesn't have a specific breed, but they're great pets. Here is a link for pictures of cat breeds if you want to look through them.

WOW it particularly is a standard question!!!!! verify out their registration papers from the breeders you acquire them from! they must be registered with a cat association like CFA or TICA. What no registration papers call the breeder and have them deliver them to you. If no breeder, no registration papers you have what's understand as kinfolk cats. they at the instant are not of any breed in any respect. guy this became ordinary.. R P CAT maximum don't have adventure with cats by using fact of this they arrive here. i admire cats and have had lots adventure. i'm no longer making relaxing of you or something in simple terms in a large temper this night. i'm happy you have taken a type on small animals. there is a lot to learn. I want others could do study on possessing small animals and that i commend you on doing so. shop up the large artwork. Asking questions isn't continually ordinary, and getting suitable solutions is much extra good. verify you do your homework previously believing any solutions here by using fact the very fact, distinctly well-being appropriate questions if unsure call the vet. I even have been breeding Maine Coon cats for 12 years and nonetheless studying appropriate to the feline international. on no account ever end studying, or asking questions.

Unless your cat is a pedigree - and you know her/his parents were purebreds, your cat will never technically belong to a breed. You can only say its a "Siamese cat" or a "Bengal" or whatnot if you've got the papers.

Here's the CFA website stating this: http://www.cfainc.org/breeds/breed-definition.html

It also has a list of the breeds & descriptions on the homepage...

Unfortunately without registration papers and a pedigree you can't - but you know what? Does it really matter? Just give her plenty of love and she will return love back to you- and remeber to keep her an indoor kitty - a lot safer. Linda
