i had this problem!!! and it's tonsils!! you may not feel like it's coming from the back of your throat, but believe me it is!! the "crypts" in the tonsils become built up with food and infection. i saw an ENT specialist and had my tonsils out....the older you are, the more it hurts. but it's worth it. please get seen soon, and good luck!!

Maybe a tonsil stone.

Look in the back of your mouth (near the sides) with a flashlight. Do you see any greenish-gray buildup on the sides?

Tonsil stones are small and smelllllllly. I'm pretty sure last time my brother had them he went to a dentist who gave him stuff to get rid of it.

Yes and it is gross and I have no idea where
it comes from. One person told me it was
small particles of food that get stuck in the back of your mouth and when you cough hard it pop's out.
