Last night I was giving my friend his weekly lesson on shooting pool and next to us where two couples...the women were dressed fairly nice...one had a nice pair of jeans on and a nice sweather, the other one a fashionable pair of slacks and a blouse-like shirt...not exactly sunday bests, but very presentable...the guys they were with, the girl wearing the jeans, her guy has ripped jeans, tennis shoes and a wrinkled shirt on...the other guy is wearing jeans hanging off his ***, nasty dirty shoes and a t shirt...
What gives...if you were those girls wouldnt you be embarrassed to be seen in public dressed nice with a couple of guys that look like they just picked up something off the floor to get dressed? I mean if I go out with a woman I am not saying I put a suit on, but I at least look like I made an effort to not embarrass myself or them!

I would refuse to walk out the door with any man that didn't go to as much effort to look nice for our date, as I did. And I taught my daughters to do the same.
Women seem to be really hard up these days though, and are willing to accept a lot less quality than I did. A real shame.
I agree ladies! Stop allowing these jerks to get away with looking like slobs for your dates. If they don't show up looking nice, send them packing!
Or use this line..."We have just enough time to go back to your place so you can change into something more appropriate."

Depends on how spot on your description of them is. It's nice to have a guy who doesn't sport 'bum' attire, but just the same I don't mind so much, depending on where we are, how he looks so long as it's appropriate. Pool hall means downtime and that means not having to worry too much about how you look unless you go there to 'get some' and they already had girlfriends, I guess he saw it that way too. Then there's the whole 'the girls might like that look' thing. I don't get it. I like casual, but as stated before; not so casual that you can smell him from two tables over and see the crack of his *** through the holes on the back of his jeans every time he bends over to take a shot. So 'presentable' is nice. Not required, depending on where we are.

yes, but I actually have the opposite problem. My husband likes to dress nice or "preppy" and I usually dress down all the time unless the occasion calls for nice dressing. It drives me crazy because I always feel under dressed because of it. But I have had it happen that I dress nice and the guy I'm with dresses "scrubby". So not cool.

Amen to that. I agree 100% with you there. I see so many nicely dressed women with guys who look like they just rolled out of bed. I don't wear suits or anything, but when I'm out with my girl, I try to look half-way presentable. I guess that bad boy wannabe look is what alot of women seem attracted to.

Any woman worth the effort, will get the effort. Those women were probably idiots or don't understand when a guy doesn't put forth any effort to look presentable for them, he won't put forth any effort any where else. Losers.

When I go out, I make an effort for my appearance. If the man I am with doesnt at least make an effort in his appearance, I feel as though he is just out with me to kill time, not because he really likes me. I usually dont let it embarrass me though because I am not responsible for his appearance. I was really embarrassed to be seen with a guy once but he was really sloppy looking. Usually if a guy doesnt make any effort for me, I dont go back out with him. He doesnt have to dress super nice, but he does need to at least be clean, groomed and have at least made some effort.

if the women were comfortable with their men wearing that, i guess it wouldn't bother them. who knows, some women like their men dressed like that.
