Because man is in denial about who his real enemy is. Then, evil can be anything he just has to give it meaning.

From a Buddhist perspective: Because man grasps and clings to dualistic thinking and Western philosophies and religions feed dualism and perpetuate it for their own reasons. Because people believe the world revolves around some defineable "self" that is inherently existent, and that each "self" has the market cornered on "truth" and that only that "self" can be right, otherwise anybody who thinks otherwise is "the ENEMY".
We learn to accept that nothing or nobody is "better" or "worse" than anything or anybody else when we start accepting the reality that the universe doesn't revolve around us... that we're an integral part of everything and everybody around us. When we start accepting that the consequences of everything we say and do affects everything and everybody around us, either positively or negatively according to our behavior and intent and when we decide to stop affecting sentient beings and the world around us negatively. It has to be a conscious choice.

Just as satan used his lies towards Eve and convinced her to eat the forbidden fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil and she had Adam do the same, satan introduced confusion and sin of disobedience into our life when he did that.
Satan still to this day being the author of confusion, continually puts man against man using race, creed, color, etc, to keep us in a total state not only of confusion, but while we are fighting among ourselves, we are not serving God when we are destracted like this.
If you have a strong relationship with God, you will be able to avoid the traps and pitfalls set out to destract you away from God and His will for you.This is how you can gain strength and power over satan..

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Matthew 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
Deuteronomy 11:27 A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day:

If God created guy in his own photo, then guy shows us what God is like, precise? What you're announcing is, if God is benevolent and guy is malevolent, then guy isn't made in God's photo. it is logical. yet what I say is, God created guy with the potential for ill, and definitely there is not any longer some thing in creation which does no longer encompass polar opposites. I nonetheless have self belief that guy is made in clone of god ... and lady too, and that tells you lots about what God is like. different from how maximum Christians imagine him, I fancy.

Some of us have learned that lesson. I'm not old enough to remember when Martin Luther King Jr. gave that speech but I remember the first time I read it. He was right and wasn't going to argue but only stand for right and reconciliation. He was one of the few who really allowed the love of God to flow. In fact he let love be His weapon. We who know love for the entire human race need to stand against the hate with our weapon being love.

Historical refutation as the definitive refutation.-- In former times, one sought to prove that there is no God - today one indicates how the belief that there is a God arose and how this belief acquired its weight and importance: a counter-proof that there is no God thereby becomes superfluous.- When in former times one had refuted the 'proofs of the existence of God' put forward, there always remained the doubt whether better proofs might not be adduced than those just refuted: in those days atheists did not know how to make a clean sweep.

After Buddha was dead, his shadow was still shown for centuries in a cave - a tremendous, gruesome shadow. God is dead; but given the way of men, there may still be caves for thousands of years in which his shadow will be shown. -And we- we still have to vanquish his shadow, too.

Unfortunately, probably never. They say that anyone who doesn't know history is doomed to repeat it, but we all know enough about history & repeat it anyway.
