The idea that radiation from microwaves causes cancer is controversial. I had the very same question recently and did some research.

The simple answer is NO. Microwave radiation does not cause cancer.

It seems that the energy of microwave radiation is much lower than that of UV radiation (which has been proven to cause skin cancer). Direct alteration of cancer-causing genes doesn't seem to happen upon microwave exposure.

Microwaves DO produce energy in the form of heat when it hits a molecule, so potentially you could be deactivating essential enzymes that act as antioxidants (protecting from free radicals and toxins that promote cancer), or increasing metabolic rate within cells, leading to fast cell growth, which could hypothetically result in a natural DNA error (fast aging).

The odds for the latter causing cancer directly are extremely low. Basically what I'm saying is that microwaves aren't HEALTHY for you; they can impede the mechanisms for which your body can prevent cancer at an extremely low rate; but they don't actually CAUSE cancer.

A word of precaution though: Styrofoam food containers emit Benzene and Styrene into food (especially hot food or drinks) when heated, both of which are carcinogenic (cancer producing). NEVER, EVER microwave food in styrofoam containers.

No, not unless you have a pacemaker, but eating microwaved foods can cause cancer.

If a magician comes and do all sorts of illusion and claims he is God would I would not believe him. If a stranger comes and shows you all the tricks I do believe that most atheists would think of him as illusionists and most Christians as devil.
