Why in the world would you think that's weird or not ok??

Honestly, 12 isn't such a strange age to still play with dolls. Each person is different. I actually feel MORE concerned for the 12 year olds who think they are "too old" or "too mature" for things like dolls and cartoons and Disneyland and the likes!

Though, if she's also saying that she WANTS to have babies, I'd be a little worried that she'd try to get pregnant somehow? I dunno, I had a couple friends like that when I was younger, and they ended up having kids at 14 and 15.

My cousin's ex-girlfriend was 20 and she was carrying a baby doll around, acting as if it were real...she DESPERATELY wanted to have babies and tried with every man she was with...thank god my cousin got out of that relationship before it was too late. Now something like THAT I think is kinda strange.

I'm pretty sure that when my older sisters (now in their 50's) were that age, they played with baby dolls but started phasing them out in favor of Barbies when they turned 12.

I think it's ok. The world wants kids to grow up too fast these days---cell phones, bling, clothes that are miniatures of the Juniors Hussy Collection. Let her play with the dolls!

As a kid who grew up slowly also I can tell you that the longer she is interested in things that interests children the better. 12 years old is a mentally young age but most girls feel the need to grow up fast! If she is interested in childish things for a few more yrs wonerful!!! Its better to like dolls than older boys, drugs, and other experimental things.

if thats what she wants to do let her. As long as it doesn't interfere with her socially. 12 is a hard age. She is starting to realise how hard it is being older and maybe just wants to hold off a little longer before growing up

Sounds like an obsesion to me, the wanting of a baby like that is how most teens end up pregnant. They feel the need to be loved by something/ someone. Hopefully she will outgrow it soon.

I played with dolls when I was 12 -- in fact, I STILL play with dolls!

It is better than her going out and having sex like some other 12 year-olds and getting pregnant. Encourage her to remain innocent for as long as you can

when i was a pre-teen i played with dolls, but i can't remember if they were baby dolls or not. i think it's perfectly fine, but you may want to talk to her pediatrician about it if you're really worried.
