The Virgin Mary was born as a result of the Immaculate Conception. A lot of people think that it was Jesus but that is wrong. I learned about this yesterday at a church meeting.

Jesus Christ was the only baby that was born as a result of the immaculate conception.

I am not Catholic, and even most Catholics do not realize this. They may even argue with them until you make them ask their Priest. But in truth, the Immaculate Conception doctrine of the Catholic Church does apply to Mary the Mother of Jesus and not to the conception of Jesus Himself. It is a difficult teaching to understand, and not supported by the Scriptures in any way. But it has something to do with the way that any human female is born with all the eggs she will ever produce, already existing, nascent in her ovaries. So the Immaculate Conception is the conception of that egg that would become Jesus, in the ovaries of Mary, while she was still in the womb of her mother. Pretty wild, eh?

Well Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit - Immaculate Conception is a Roman Catholic dogma which states that Mary was in a perpetual state of sinlessness but the Bible most definitely does NOT back that up!

None. Why do people believe in immaculate conception? Humans are humans and chances are that Mary was just stepping out on Joseph wihtout anyone else knowing. We would say the same thing if she got pregnant today but I guess the fantasy works in Christianity where ppl aren't supposed to associate sex with Jesus.

Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee (serpent) and the woman and between thy seed and her seed and He (her seed) shall bruise thy head and you shall bruise his heel.

Isaiah 7:14 Therefor the Adonay himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive and bear a son and shall call His name Immanuel (God with us).

Matthew 1:20b-23 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus (Yeshua): for He shall save His people from their sins. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

Some reason Mary also had to be of an immaculate conception, but there is no prophecies that prophesy that.

It is also written that Jesus is the Only Begotten Son of God (That would exclude the Blessed Mother Mary) The sin nature is passed on through the dad, not the mother.

Mithra If you are looking for the Biblical answer they say Mary, not Jesus. Mary was supposedly born without original sin making her the perfect mother for the saviour of mankind. That's what the Bible says.
