This guy I dated tells me he is not in love with me. I don't understand why. He tells me I'm pretty, we have great sex together, we have lots of fun together and really likes me but that he doesn't feel in love with me like I am his soul mate or future wife. To me it seems like we really click and are a great couple so I was stunned when he told me he doesn't love me. I am having a hard time understanding WHY he doesn't love me (I am in love with him). Is there a logical reason why we fall in love with some people but not others or is it a mystery completely out of our control who we fall in love with?

its a mystery. but heres an easy explanation.
its not about sex. its just how you make eachother feel. its something amazing. its not an everyday thing.
its all in fate and destiny.

Its been solved already and based on biological and psychological mechanisms.
Biological ones are things like the way someone looks or even smells, for the reason to find someone who genetically fits with your set of genes.
Psychological mechanisms involve things like security - you would want to feel secure and be able to raise kids or who can provide your needs.
All these things are subconscious and really hard to determine by your logic (rather by intuition) and that why some people feel like love is an emotion- though it really isnt.

I don't buy his not in love with you crap. People like you are too gullible and give yourself so easily instead making the guy sweat by playing hard to get routine. We fail to appreciate what come so easy for us. And I think that's the case here. If you want him (though I wonder why) but in that case start flirting with his brother or his best friend and openly start ignoring him. I bet you will see a change in his I'm sure that this chap is not right for you.

There really is no logical answer to this question, but I guess the closet answer to me is: The individuals that we do seem to fall in love with are those who help us change, whether it be personality, style, the way you think or feel, etc. Those who do help us change make us feel better about ourselves, so we tend to fall in love and those who don't, do not grow enough respect from us to say we love them. It is a really complicated matter.

If it was that easy everybody would pick who they wanted to love and be loved by.Our hearts are something beyond our control and we don't choose who we love it just happens.I think it's a blessing that he was honest enough to let you know so you don't have to waste love on someone that can't give it to you in return.It is like a multiple choice question and you eliminated one of the wrong answers. Don't allow that to stop you from finding the right one.

Some people seem to have the ability to shield themselces from loving for fear of committment...others will not admit it for the same reason..even if they are in love.

Dunno sometimes. If you look back on such a thing....you have to say it was meant to be if you learned something during that time. Timing has a lot to do with it. We are like trees...and the weather is love. We continue to grow or wither with whatever love we invite or push away.
