The Greenhouse effect. Some predict that the planet will end up being covered in ocean water. Others predict, it won't happen. Plenty of theories around, yet the icebergs in the Artic appear to be melting rapidly. This of course is from industries who pollute the air and don't want to spend the big bucks to refit their smoke stacks.

The mountain peaks will become islands and the rest of the land will become lucrative fishing spots for those who would be lucky enough to be living on the mountains!
