Will two basset hound male live together happily?

Every dog is different. Some love other dogs, some hate other dogs, some only like females, some only males, some only small dogs, etc. It really depends on their individual personalities. Make sure you neuter them and you won't have to worry as much about dominance/territorial aggression popping up.

The bassets I've known have been very laid-back dogs. The breeders I knew routinely had a couple of intact males with no problems (unless there was a female in heat around). If yours are neutered, you should have absolutely no problems.

As long as they know who is the dominat one from the start and they don't challenge each other for the alpha role you'll be alright.
I guess it is always best to get dogs of different gender but Hounds are used to working in groups so could be okay. I suggest if there are problems with the two males to get one neutred and then all will be fine.

If you are talking puppies there shouldn't be any problems as they will be brought up together. If you are meaning adult dogs then it depends. You may need to introduce them to each other slowly until you know how they are going to react. Even if it is difficult in the beginning it normally settles down with firm handling & tlc. Good luck

Basset hounds are usually ageressive. I would put them together only if they are brothers, or if they have known each other for a long time.
