They are cheap but its not always about how cheap it is the service the flight attendents do. For example British Airways they have excellent service for handicap people as well as regular people.

The question is a bit vague...nowadays there are many different categories that poeple use to determine the quality of an airline...some people judge airlines by the seat configuration and leg space, some prefer to use food as a scale and some may look at the airlines' financial and corporate data...
www.skytrax.com is a website that compares the aviation industry..
Going back to ure question, Ryanair is known as a "no frills" airline..it means that you pay for your seat and carriage by air only...any extras like drinks, meals can be purchased at extra costs... This means that Rynanair can charge seriously low fares!! However their service may be looked upon as no different than a bus service...
So i would have to say that Ryanair fits its purpose for the amount you spend on buying the ticket..but if yu want to get deeper than u need to consider that all these low fares are not really paying for their way towards sustainable environment..

Considering the following facts:
1) They use 2nd hand spare parts in their aircraft when being serviced
2) They fly on the bare legal minimum of fuel, with barely enough for 2 landing attempts and their diversion
3) Only airline to have last an engineer on the ground as a result of being sucked into the engine
4) Has the shortest training period for both line pilots and cabin crew in all of Europe....
I think it's safe to say that NO!!! They're NOT a good airline.

I've used them and they're OK. Get you from point A to point B with a minimum of fuss but because there's no seat allocation the queues for check-in and boarding are usually mammoth and undignified.
