Amnesty is not going to solve the problem. It only encourages others to come wait it out and another amnesty happens. Illegals come here for a better life but much of that better life is at the expense of other people who've had the ids stolen and used by as many illegals as possible until it gets attention. Their better life is based on lies and deception. There is no practical way they lead a honest life for so many years it just hasn't happened when you have break a number of laws to have a better life. They have to accept the responsibility and stop expecting someone else to solve their problems based on poor choices in they made in life.

The main reason is that financially it would not be feasible for the government to do so now. Even though the government is use to wasting money, it doesn't have the man power to try and round up that many people. Had the government enforced the laws after the 1st amnesty we would not be in the mess we find now.

In the first place, one would have to find them. As for amnesty, not only do I believe it, I approve of it. Whether legal or not, those people are doing useful work and adding to the economy. I want to see a naturalization plan, by which anyone here illegally could register, and thereafter work without fear of deportation. After 7 years, with a clean record, ability to read, write and speak English, and $1000 in the bank, they could become citizens. (This process is intentionally more difficult than for people who came here legally to start with.)

part of it certainly has to do with logistics and money. it would be a very large operation to round up hundreds of thousands of people and put them on planes and buses and send them to all parts of the world in asia and south america. Some may not even have a country that would except them. You'd have to drop them off in international waters with a life vest. 500,000 life vests there's a billion dollars right there

Let's just have the laws enforced. Illegal immigration is a crime, everything after 'illegal' just doesn't really matter.
